Alexander Stewart shares heartfelt new single 'life at first sight'

Fresh from his sold out show at Lafayette London this week, Alexander Stewart shares his latest single ‘life at first sight’.

Having first performed the song at his sisters wedding, and then surprised her with it at his hometown show in Toronto, anticipation for the songs release has been building amongst fans for some time now, with Stewart further fanning the flames of excitement by teasing clips of the heartfelt track across both TikTok and Instagram. 

Commenting on the single, Alexander says via a press release: “When I was writing ‘life at first sight’ I never imagined it would have a life beyond being a sweet surprise for my sister on her big day.”

“But when I started playing it on tour and saw how it moved the crowd, I realised that this song could be the soundtrack for so many other people’s big life moments and knew I had to put it out. Seeing the reaction online to ‘life at first sight’ has been deeply emotional, and I can’t wait to see what other moments this song helps bring to life.”

‘life at first sight’ comes following the release of Alexander’s debut album ‘bleeding heart’.

Made up of 12 soul-stirring tracks – including the singles ’blame’s on me’, ‘i wish you cheated’, and ‘broken by you’ which hailed as one of Rolling Stone’s Songs You Need To Know – the heartfelt collection sees Stewart reflect upon his journey through life thus far, tackling themes of love, loss and personal redemption, to produce a deeply introspective, and musically cohesive body of work that is sure to resonate with fans around the world.

“This album is a combination of the last 3 years of my life, and making it was truly the most beautiful, exciting, painful, trying, insane thing I’ve ever done,” Stewart said of the record prior to its release.

Following several sold-out headlining shows across North America, the UK and Europe, including London’s Lafayette, Alexander will conclude The Bleeding Hearts Tour in Luxembourg on Saturday, June 29th.
