My kitten has been waking me up around 4:30 every morning, weekdays and weekends, he doesn’t know. I’ve felt like a zombie for months now. Basically, it really is like having a fur-covered baby who doesn’t care about your sleep whatsoever. Not to compare myself to Amal Clooney or anything, but Amal looks so tired in these photos. She has two human babies at home and their sleep schedule must be screwed up from the time difference between LA and New York. Amal has been in New York this week to do some lectures at Columbia University, and these are some photos of her coming and going from Columbia. The green coat is by Michael Kors and I really like it. I would have liked it more if she paired with jeans or a smart pair of black trousers. With the white skirt, it just looks… odd. And the shoes! My God, Amal’s footwear is always so strange. She IS a shoe person, but I just don’t get her shoe choices.

Amal recently took on a new case/client: she’s joined the legal team representing two Reuters reporters who are currently being jailed in Myanmar. The Reuters reporters were working on a story into several of the murders of Rohingya Muslim men – you can read more about the case here. So Amal is back to work in a big way, giving lectures at Columbia and taking on new cases. As it turns out, she also has something a lot lighter planned:

Amal’s [new case] comes amid claims she recently threw open the doors of her family’s newly refurbished £10 million Berkshire mansion to renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz, for an ‘at home’ interview, set to be published in Vogue this year. In the unlikely event that the A-listers’ nine-bedroom property isn’t impressive enough, Amal also borrowed £7million of diamonds to wear for the occasion.

A source close to the Clooneys told The Mail on Sunday: ‘This has been organised for a long while. It is Amal’s chance to do a sit-down interview and show the inside of her house. It will be a really special piece for her. She and George have put blood, sweat and tears into getting their house to be perfect, so it’s the ideal location to do this.’

The choice of photographer is also significant, as Leibovitz took the pictures of Amal during the final fitting of her Oscar de la Renta wedding dress for the couple’s marriage in September 2014. However, it is understood that neither George, 56, nor nine-month-old twins Alexander and Ella will appear in the new pictures. The couple bought the 17th Century, Grade II listed mansion in the village of Sonning Eye – where neighbours include British Prime Minister Theresa May and Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page – for about £7.5 million in 2014, soon after they married.

A Vogue editorial of the Clooneys’ English country estate? I’m looking forward to that. The Daily Mail spent a lot of time tracking all of the renovations happening with the estate, and George really poured a ton of money into upgrading the property in general, as well as adding a lot of security precautions. I remember when George showed off the Como mansion in an issue of Vanity Fair, and I was impressed with his interior design style. I wonder about this English country estate though – it feels like it was more of Amal’s pet project and George let her take the lead. What’s her interior design style going to look like? Black leather and chintz? Garden party plus Morocco? Hmmm. Also: it’s sort of cool that we still haven’t seen little Sascha and Ella Clooney, right?
